With the release of their first album, Parachutes, and the release of one Yellow, Coldplay, was one of the most beloved and admired groups in the world. Coldplay has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and won several Grammy Awards. Coldplay was formed in London in 1997, though, the band was named Starfish then. Before they wrote a great work record with Parlophone, they recorded “Safety EP” and “Brothers and Sisters EP” under the independent label Fierce Panda. Parachutes was released in July 2000 and immediately became the number in the UK charts. Dating album has also received much radio airplay in the UK, as well as in America.
In October 2002, Coldplay returned to the studio with producer Ken Nelson, who released their debut album as well. The album “a rush of blood to the head” came to the record stores in August and after Coldplay headed to their first world tour. Singles “Clock” and “In My Place” won two Grammy Awards. The first concert album, was released after they returned from their world tour and is simply called “Live 2003″. The release includes CD and DVD containing highlights of the tour. In December 2003, Coldplay was chosen as the best artist and best band of the year by the readers of Rolling Stone.
many expect, the third album by Coldplay in “X and Y” was released in June 2005 and became a huge success selling over 8 million copies worldwide. In addition, the third-fastest-selling album in UK chart history. The first single from the album “Speed of Sound” and was followed by singles “Fix You” and “Talk”. After releasing the album, Coldplay has started a new world tour, which lasted over a year. In addition, they play in the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park. “X and Y” was chosen best album in the BRIT Awards.
